COMMENT: Semi-autonomous car, semi-attentive driver?

Road safety will suffer if drivers continue to abuse semi-autonomous driving systems and ignore clear warnings, writes Freddie Holmes

Earlier in March, a vehicle was involved in a road traffic incident that would immediately steal the headlines. Public outrage and finger pointing ensued, with the entity in control of the car clearly at fault.

This event did not occur in Tempe, Arizona but instead involved an intoxicated television personality who crashed into two other cars in London. Only a day later did news break that a pedestrian had been struck and killed by a self-driving test vehicle in Arizona
