What are or are not ‘alternative’ fuels is a matter for debate. In trucks and buses anything other than diesel tends to be labelled ‘alternative’, though natural gas (NG), in either compressed (CNG) or liquefied (LNG) form, is surely edging towards acceptance as a mainstream fuel, more so in North America than elsewhere.
