GM eyes potential Google partnership

A General Motors executive has said the company would be open to working with Google on developing self-driving car technology, highlighting the increasing trend for OEMs to collaborate with outside tech giants to develop cars into the future

OEMs including General Motors are racing to develop features that will make cars safer to drive. The long-term vision adopted by most OEMs is for cars that will ultimately drive themselves. Despite contrasting industry opinions on how it will happen, it is widely accepted that full autonomy is coming, with cars likely to be able to drive completely autonomously from 2030 onward.
