The President of Skoda’s Chinese unit, Gerrit A Marx, will leave the company at the end of October. Marx has held the post for just one year.
A report carried by the Beijing Times said Skoda China is yet to announce Marx’s successor. In July 2011, Marx was appointed as the head of Skoda’s operations in China.
Marx has reportedly cited personal reasons for leaving the company. The report, citing an official statement, said he will return to Germany. He has decided to leave the automotive industry, and will now enter the field of finance, the statement said.
Marx was in constant discussions with Shanghai Volkswagen, pushing for more sales of imported vehicles. He was, Gasgoo.com says, on the verge of making an announcement, concerning a new independent sales network for the OEM.
