BYD hits 1,000 Europe e-bus milestone, expands Hungary plant

Hungary is backing BYD’s growth with an HUF 3.1bn grant, positioning itself as a Chinese EV hub. By Stewart Burnett

BYD has produced the 1,000th electric bus at its Komárom factory in northern Hungary, marking a key milestone for the Chinese automaker’s European commercial vehicle strategy. The vehicle, a B12.b model built for German operator STOAG, features BYD’s Cell-to-Chassis battery integration and will join fleets in Oberhausen.
