Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the appointment of Hugues Desmarchelier as vice president, Global Electrification Ecosystem & EV Programs effective October 01, 2021. He will report to Ivan Espinosa, senior vice president, Global Product Strategy and Product Planning Division, Global Program Management and NISMO.
In this position, Desmarchelier will be responsible for strategic EV Programs and partnerships, platform management, battery planning and deploying EV ecosystem supporting Nissan’s comprehensive approach to electrification to reduce emissions and provide electric vehicle technologies that benefit the environment and society.
Nissan has set the goal to achieve carbon neutrality across the company’s operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050 and as part of this effort, to electrify every all-new Nissan vehicle offering in key markets by the early 2030s.
