The production of steel for the automotive industry is changing. In order to stay ahead of alternative materials like aluminium and magnesium, steel manufacturers are constantly launching new products that are lighter, stronger and increasingly enticing for OEMs.
To do this, many are investing large amounts into production lines and manufacturing processes. Speaking to Automotive World, Jean-Luc Thirion, Head of Global R&D for Automotive, ArcelorMittal, discussed the recent changes that have been made at the company, allowing it to produce innovative new products.
