The automotive industry in Japan produced a total of 8,398,654 passenger cars, trucks and buses in 2011. Compared with the 9,628,920 vehicles produced in 2010, last year's figures were down 12.8%.
According to figures released by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), car production in the country last year totalled 7,158,525
