CATL raises a total of US$5.3bn from Hong Kong IPO

The Chinese battery giant’s shares soared by 16% in the wake of the listing. By Stewart Burnett

Chinese battery giant CATL raised US$5.3bn through its highly-anticipated listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The IPO, which initially raised US$4.5bn, saw shares priced at HK$263 (US$33.58) rise by 16% to HK$296 on the first day of trading; this allowed the overallotment option to be fully exercised, pushing the total to US$5.3bn.
