Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Deliveries Up By Five Percent Worldwide In October

From January to October, the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand delivered 455,400 urban delivery vehicles, transporters and pickups to customers all over the world. Compared to the corresponding period last year (January – October 2011: 433,700) this represents an increase of five percent.

Amarok deliveries achieved 22.5 percent growth, to 66,500 vehicles (January – October 2011: 54,300). Crafter deliveries rose by 32.5 percent to 40,400 vehicles (January – October 2011: 30,500). Results for the T5 series improved worldwide by 4.2 percent, to 132,700 deliveries (January – October 2011: 127,400). Worldwide deliveries of the Caddy were down by 2.8 percent to 127,800 units (January – October 2011: 131,400).

In Western Europe including Germany, deliveries of the Brand were up by 1.1 percent to 237,600 vehicles in January to October 2012 (January – October 2011: 235,100). In Eastern Europe deliveries to the end of October rose by 20.5 percent to 34,200 vehicles (January – October 2011: 28,400).

In the first ten months of 2012, Germany was Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ largest-volume market in Europe, with a growth of 3.0 percent to 103,600 customer deliveries (January – October 2011: 100,600).

In South America, deliveries were up by 4.1 percent to 121,400 light commercial vehicles and pickups (January – October 2011: 116,600). Deliveries of the Saveiro went down by 4.4 percent to 65,500 (January – October 2011: 68,500), results for the T2 improved by 3.9 percent to 22,400 deliveries (January – October 2011: 21,500).

In Africa, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles boosted deliveries by 18.1 percent to 16,000 units; in the Asia-Pacific region the Brand succeeded in increasing its delivery volume by 59.3 percent to 15,100 vehicles.
