Continental is giving workshops more security and additional sales arguments in its new 5-year guarantee. Companies which would like to benefit from the 5-year guarantee in the future only need to register once at www.contitech.de/aam. That will be possible in 16 languages. Once registered, workshops will enjoy the benefits of the 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee for all power transmission belts and belt drive components from the automotive aftermarket product range installed in cars in the future. In addition, registered workshops will receive the quarterly e-mail newsletter with information on new products and valuable workshop tips.
The guarantee applies exclusively to automotive repair workshops in the 47 participating European countries for a period of 5 years from the date on which the product is fitted. The registration form includes a list of countries. “Should our product exhibit a material or manufacturing fault, we will repair or replace the product at fault,” says Jens Heitkemper from the ContiTech Power Transmission Group’s Marketing Service. “Claims under the guarantee are handled via the dealer from whom the product was purchased. Proof of the purchase of the part(s) and the date of fitting must be provided. And, of course, the product must have been fitted by a qualified professional.”
The guarantee is null and void if the products have been fitted or handled incorrectly or if the vehicle manufacturer’s current specifications, such as change intervals, have not been observed. The guarantee shall also not be applicable if the product has failed as a result of normal wear and tear, external factors such as foreign bodies, contamination with fluids, or as a result of improper operating/environmental conditions, as can occur, for example, as a result of tuning or racing.“Our products meet the most stringent quality standards and are manufactured using state-of-the-art production processes and materials. We are therefore the OEM of choice for a large number of vehicle manufacturers,” says Heitkemper. “That gives us the necessary self-confidence to offer such a guarantee.”
