Tom Anliker, Managing Director of Chevrolet Suisse, will become Managing Director of Cadillac Europe, effective January 1, 2013. He will succeed Wolfgang Schubert, who was leading Cadillac Europe operations since 2006 and has elected to retire from GM after a 23-year career.

Anliker will report to Susan Docherty, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe.

“We are pleased to have a seasoned GM executive taking over Cadillac’s European operations at a crucial point in time”, said Docherty. “Tom brings with him a wealth of experience from various leadership positions that he held for GM in Europe and overseas. With Cadillac just launching its premium midsize sedan ATS and with its continuously enlarged portfolio of world class passenger cars, crossovers and SUV’s, GM’s luxury brand is poised to grow its business across Europe.”

Before being named Managing Director, Cadillac Europe, Anliker successfully managed Chevrolet’s operations in Switzerland, significantly increasing our market share. He began his career with GM in 1989 and has served in various international sales and marketing executive assignments. He earned a master’s degree of Arts in Business and Economics from Basel University in 1988.

Schubert has been Executive Brand Director for Cadillac Europe since 2006 and Managing Director since 2010. Before that he held various executive positions for GM in Europe. He also joined GM in 1989.

“Wolfgang has been instrumental in re-launching the Cadillac business in Europe and in promoting the renaissance of the Cadillac brand in Europe,” Docherty said. “Under his leadership, Cadillac has launched a host of successful vehicles, including the outstanding CTS-V series, the crossover SRX and Cadillac’s new entry into the largest premium car segment, the ATS midsize premium sedan. His enthusiasm for Cadillac and his passion for excellence have helped us shape the future of our luxury brand in Europe beyond its 110 years of unique history.”
