TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE: TEL), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, attends WE16, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) conference in Philadelphia, Pa. as a Corporate Partnership Council Member. SWE’s mission is to stimulate women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity. As a Corporate Partnership Council member, TE Connectivity (TE) advances the mission of SWE by providing consultation with the society’s leadership, sharing insight in industry trends and development, and supplying financial support for not only innovative projects, but the operations and infrastructure of the society.

In addition to being a member of the council, TE will attend the conference and recruit with the largest career fair presence in the company’s history – with more 40 representatives, including Tom Lynch, TE’s chairman and chief executive officer; Karen Leggio, senior vice president and general manager in the company’s Automotive business; and Erin Byrne, chief technology officer of TE’s Fiber Optics, Data & Devices business.

TE will partner with John Deere and Raytheon to welcome more than 1200 collegiate engineering students, as well as host exclusive breakout sessions and tech talks with executive leaders. To showcase TE’s leading positions in connectivity and sensors, the company’s booth will also feature its transparent car display, which highlights the wide range of TE technologies present in automobiles of today and the future.

TE will be actively recruiting at the event, as the company seeks to add to its current cadre of more than 7,000 engineers – a group with has logged over 13,000 patents worldwide. TE’s commitment to engineering, technology and innovation is a key part of its business strategy, with more than $600 million invested in research and development in the last fiscal year and strong support of a variety of efforts aimed at increasing inclusion and diversity in the engineering field.
