With a score of 81/100, compared to an average of 32/100, the PSA Group is on the podium of the international ranking conducted by the non-financial rating agency, Vigeo-Eiris, on the subject of Human Rights. 3,000 companies from 35 countries were assessed between September 2014 and September 2016.
This place on the podium recognises the Group’s long-term commitment to respecting Human Rights in all the countries in which it operates. Since 2003, the Group has undertaken to promote the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, notably inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The PSA Group has chosen to involve its stakeholders in this approach on an international scale, by signing a global framework agreement in 2006 on corporate social responsibility. This agreement is the Group’s strong, public commitment to respect fundamental Human Rights. It refers to the International Labour Organization conventions. It was negotiated with the two international trade union federations in the sector of activity, IndustriALL Global Union and IndustriALL Europe, and involved 90 trade union organisations within the Group.
The framework agreement’s requirements are contractually extended to its partners, distributors and suppliers. Thus, by signing the “responsible supplier” charter, the Group’s suppliers undertake not to use forced, compulsory or child labour.
The PSA Group carries out an assessment on the application of this agreement thanks to a structured procedure, notably through an annual audit process. On their side, IndustriALL and all the trade union organisations exercise constant vigilance and have the possibility of reporting non-compliance. The PSA Group undertakes to deal with expressed appeals and claims.
