- Recently voted “Most Beautiful Car of the Year”, the Renault Talisman is the star of the moment! It has been chosen as the official car of the 41st Nuit des César ceremony and will be used to escort the movie stars to the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on February 26.
- Hosted by Claude Lelouch and broadcast live and free-to-air on Canal+, the ceremony should have a high level of visibility in the media with the attendance of stars like Karin Viard, Loubna Abidar, Cécile de France, Vincent Lindon, Vincent Cassel, Jean-Pierre Bacri and Michael Douglas, who is to receive the honorary César award! The tone of this year’s event will be set by comedian Florence Foresti, master of ceremonies, and nominees such as Camille Cottin and François Damiens.
- An official partner of the event once more, Renault will provide an extraordinary fleet of 50 Renault Talismans as part of a near ten-year collaboration with the French Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques. This collaboration strengthens the ties Renault has had with the big screen ever since Louis Renault offered to let the Lumière brothers use his first car over a century ago in 1899.
The Renault Talisman makes its debut at the César Awards
Voted “Most Beautiful Car of the Year” for 2015 at the 31st Festival automobile international (International automobile festival) in Paris on January 31, the Renault Talisman is the star of the moment! The model was particularly successful, receiving more than 125,000 votes from European internet users for a total of 40%. With this award in mind, Renault chose the Talisman as the official car for the 2016 César Awards! This partnership began nine years ago and is a symbol of Renault’s ongoing commitment to the film industry. A fleet of 50 Renault Talismans sporting the event insignia will be available to VIP guests for the evening.
Renault: a brand that goes hand in hand with the big screen!
Renault’s involvement in the film industry began over 110 years ago, when the very first movie studios were built in Billancourt next to the Renault factory, from 1885 to 1898. This closeness led them to forge a lasting bond, and now more than 200 television and movie productions are filmed every year using Renault vehicles. Renault is continuing its involvement by creating ties with most prestigious film festivals, including Cannes, Deauville, Marrakech, the Venice Film Festival and others.
Winners and nominees at the 2016 César Awards
The French Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques, the institution behind the César Awards, will hold its annual ceremony to celebrate the best French films of 2015. Certain full-length feature films are already in the running, such as Les Cowboys with François Damiens, Dheepan by Jacques Audiard and Marguerite with Catherine Frot. We also think that other excellent films like La loi du marché with Vincent Lindon, Mustang by Deniz Gamze Ergüven and Fatima by Philippe Faucon have a strong chance of receiving awards. This year’s nominees include Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, Gérard Depardieu, and let’s not forget the new generation of French cinema, with Benoît Magimel, Diane Rouxel, Sara Giraudeau, Louis Garrel, Alban Lenoir for the scandalous film Un Français and the youthful Noémie Schmidt for L’Étudiante and Monsieur Henri.
