Leading Japanese Tier1, Fujitsu Ten, has recently awarded NNG with its annual Supplier Award for product development and distribution to a leading global car maker in 2013. NNG is the first ever non-Japanese company to receive this award.

Fully committed to establishing its business within Japan, in addition to the global business with Japanese Tier1s and OEMs, the Hungary-based navigation software provider, will further driveits product development for the Japanese automotive market with increased localization efforts. More than 25 additional Japan-specific featuresare to come in 2014. Continuously fulfillingthe specific needs of the domestic car market, NNG aimsata 10% market share in Japan by the end of 2015. To be headed by NNG’s new Director of OEM Relations Japan, Heisuke Ikeda, the Nagoya office opening is scheduled for later this year.

In order to continuously drive the innovation and development of its Japan software, NNG has relocated software experts to Tokyo and other major Japanese cities. To ensure the successful cooperation with local partners, team members of NNG’s European HQ further take part in exchange programs, allowing them to improve their understanding of the Japanese culture and relationships with their local partners.

NNG first started its cooperation with a Japanese Tier1 for an automotive line-fit project in 2009 and went on to establishits permanent foothold in Japan in 2011.Since then, ithas focused on the increasing product and business development for the Japanese market. As a result, NNG’s navigation software solutions currently run in two vehicle brands on the Japanese market, with another 4 projects in development throughout 2014 and 2015.

Running on its iGO Navigation Engine, NNG provides OEMs with flexible, easy-to-use and cost-efficient navigation solutions that meet the particular needs of local markets. While constantly growing this number, NNG currently supplies navigation solutions for 168 countries in 50 languages. Utilizing its globally successful technologies, NNG has introduced realistic 3D landscape visualization, its smartphone integration model NavFusion and other advanced features to the Japanese market.
