Nissan and long-time China partner Dongfeng Motor Group will combine their R&D might and MONOZUKURI experience in the development and production of a new-generation medium-duty truck. Start of production is slated to begin later this year at the Nissan Plant in Avila, Spain.

Leveraging its successful 10-year partnership with Dongfeng, Nissan has been expanding the LCV business in China, working with group companies, DFAC and Zhengzhou Nissan. Since inception, the companies have produced around two million vehicles.

Nissan Corporate Vice President Hideto Murakami, responsible for the Global LCV Business Unit, said, “Our cooperative relationship with DFAC, based on the long-standing partnership between Nissan and Dongfeng Motor group, has positioned us to be ready to take this next step. We are confident that the brand new truck, underpinned by the technical capabilities and MONOZUKURI experience of Nissan and DFAC, will create a high level of added value for the marketplace.”
