Schaeffler’s location in Vadodara, India has been awarded the Schaeffler Technology Center (STC) certificate and is now a part of the corporate Global Technology Network. This was preceded by a multilevel structured process to verify that the local engineers can demonstrate a defined performance spectrum and are able to implement it in their daily work. Vadodara provides customers in the whole of India with comprehensive technical support and speedy advice of the highest standard, even in the case of very complex inquiries. Globally, a further 26 STC ensure that this high level of expertise is available to all customers – no matter where in the world they are based.

Schaeffler Technology Center – tried and tested expertise
A Schaeffler Technology Center must demonstrate a defined performance range, consisting of twelve competencies relating to rolling bearings. In addition to the necessary product expertise, they are required to have in-depth knowledge in bearing calculation and optimization, condition monitoring, mounting services and reconditioning, for example. Regular training, workshops and follow-up audits ensure that this high standard of knowledge is maintained at all times. In addition, the STC are in constant contact with the experts from the global sector networks within the Global Technology Network in order to exchange the most up to date information. As before, the sales engineer is the first contact for the customer, but he is now supported by the highly qualified engineers in the respective local STC, when in-depth expertise or major elaborations are required. Schaeffler’s engineering and service expertise is thus brought even closer to the customer and allows for quick and comprehensive support worldwide.

India – a site with a future
Schaeffler has been represented on the Indian market for 50 years now, supplying all major industrial sectors. The certification to become a Schaeffler Technology Center is another important step taken so that they can meet the growing market requirements in situ and enhance the technological expertise. At the Vadodara site, experts have shown that they achieve – and in most cases even exceed – the requirements in all fields of the performance spectrum specified for STC. The availability of a high degree of technical expertise and comprehensive rolling bearing knowledge is thus ensured for the entire Indian region.

Another STC was recently opened in Bangkok, Thailand and there are plans to develop further centers under the umbrella of the Global Technology Network.
