Pioneer Europe unveils its new TS-W311D4/S4 and TS W261D4/S4 car subwoofers designed to provide high sound quality with rich and clear bass, while simultaneously offering easy installation. The new models are packed with advanced technologies, including Pioneer’s patented IMPP composite cone, a rigid 3D-shaped cone design, large double stacked magnets and a new, extremely stiff enclosed basket able to produce bass with accurate sound quality.
The new 10- and 12-inch subwoofers are available in single and dual 4-ohm voice coil versions. Each subwoofer incorporates a redesigned, rigid 3D-shaped IMPP cone to significantly reduce weak areas that may produce unwanted resonance. The odd number of spokes used in the design, in conjunction to the thickness of the cone, dramatically increase rigidity to withstand cone flex even at extremely high sound pressure levels, resulting in clear and rhythmic bass.
The subwoofers also feature a newly designed enclosed basket to strengthen the chassis and increase its transient response, which results in a tighter, more accurate sound. The one-piece, rigid pressed steel basket resists vibration and helps to control and drive the cone during normal activity. Air vents were incorporated into the basket and the spider holder to improve airflow and reduce the rise in temperature within the motor structure and the voice coil. Additional features in the subwoofer’s construction include a newly shaped “flat-less” spider, pole yoke, and speaker surround.
