Meritor (NYSE: MTOR) announced today it has earned Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) magazine’s 2017 Top 20 Product Award for its MFS series front-steer axle.
The award honors the most innovative and significant new products that address industry issues and help fleets improve their bottom line, according to Deborah Lockridge, HDT editor. HDT announced the awards at the Technology and Maintenance Council’s 2017 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee.
“The lighter-weight MFS+ is built with the recognized performance of our MFS series. This industry recognition demonstrates that customers can rely on Meritor to deliver solutions that fit their needs for efficient, dependable products,” said Chris Villavarayan, president, Americas, for Meritor.”
The MFS+ saves up to 85 pounds from the current offering due to a new gooseneck beam design and an offset knuckle with integrated torque plate and tie-rod arms. The new design also reduces space constraints for easier access by technicians. The MFS+ is designed for mounting each brake at “12 o’clock” for easy removal. The MFS+ also offers high-angle turning capacity up to 55 degrees and compatibility with braking systems.
HDT selected the winners from hundreds of products and services covered in the magazine or on Truckinginfo.com in 2016. The selection was made by HDT’s editors with the help of a panel of readers who are decision-makers at trucking fleets. All of the award recipients will be featured in HDT magazine’s February issue.
