Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) announced today plans to consolidate its North America aftermarket distribution operations to improve efficiency. Customer orders will be handled from three facilities: Florence, Kentucky; Edmonton, Alberta; and Monterrey, Mexico. The Brampton, Ontario site will stop fulfillment of customer orders April 1, 2016 and the facility will close shortly thereafter. Eastern Canada customer orders will be fulfilled through the Florence, Kentucky site beginning April 4.

The Customer Care Center currently housed at the Brampton location will continue to operate and will be relocated to a new facility in the Brampton area.

The company met with employees today to discuss the consolidation, which will impact approximately 25 employees.

“We are committed to providing outstanding service to our customers in Canada,” said Rob Speed, president, Aftermarket & Trailer and chief procurement officer for Meritor. “This move will allow us to increase efficiencies in order processing and logistics.”

Meritor’s North America aftermarket distribution centers handle more than 1,000 calls a day and offer the broadest undercarriage and drivetrain portfolio in the industry, with approximately 30,000 SKUs stocked.
