Mats Deleryd, Senior Vice President Quality, Safety & Environmental Care, Volvo Group, has been confirmed as a speaker at Automotive World Megatrends Europe 14, taking place on September 10-11, 2014.
After his PhD in “Total Quality Management” at Luleå University of Technology in 1998, Deleryd joined Adtranz, a multinational train-company, owned by ABB and Daimler Chrysler. In 2001 Adtranz was sold to Bombardier. In Adtranz and Bombardier Deleryd held several senior management positions within quality and environmental care, primarily in the high-speed train segment. In 2006 he joined the Volvo Group as Senior Vice President Quality, Safety & Environmental Care at the Volvo Construction headquarters in Brussels. In 2013 Deleryd took a similar position, but now with the complete Volvo Group as his working-field and is based at the Volvo Group Headquarters in Gothenburg.
Being a Swedish national, Deleryd is also heavily engaged supporting the Swedish Institute for Quality where he is the board chairman. In parallel with his business career he has also developed his academic career and holds a professorship in “Innovative process and organisational development” at Mälardalen University, Sweden where his is board chairman for the research school “INNOFACTURE” focusing innovative and sustainable developments of manufacturing industry.
