Magellan®, a leader in GPS navigation, announced they will be demonstrating their comprehensive suite of fleet solutions for public transportation vehicles at the National Association of Pupil Transportation (NAPT) Annual Summit in Kansas City, Missouri, held November 4-8, 2016.
During the Expo, attendees will have the opportunity to demo the RC9665 – Magellan’s 7″, IP67 ruggedized navigation device for school bus, truck and municipal fleet vehicles. The company will also demonstrate their Return to Route smart routing solution that keeps drivers of municipal fleet vehicles on track, on time and never missing a single stop; a must have for school bus fleets. Magellan’s Return to Route utilizes advanced routing algorithms and GPS positioning technology that ensure drivers always complete their designated routes – in the correct order.
If a school bus driver makes a wrong turn, or misses part of their designated route, Magellan’s Return to Route feature will automatically navigate the driver back to the point of route departure, ensuring the driver never misses a single stop. School administrators, fleet managers, and parents can be assured every student will be picked up and delivered to school.
“We are excited to join the NAPT and show attendees the features we’ve added to Magellan’s Fleet Navigators that will help school bus drivers with everything from route guidance to not missing a single bus stop,” stated Mark Perini, vice president of Magellan’s automotive business. “Our Return to Route feature adds efficiency for school bus fleets, and peace of mind for parents.”
In addition to return to route and the RC9665, Magellan will also have their HOS Compliance feature on display; an FMCSA-certified, ELD-compliant Hour of Service solution integrated with Magellan Fleet Navigators.
