Luxoft Holding, Inc (NYSE:LXFT US), a leading provider of software development services and innovative IT solutions to a global client base, today announced it received an award by we.CONECT’s CAR HMi Concepts and Systems 2015 Congress for “Most Innovative Human Machine Interface (HMI) Feature.” Luxoft was the only IT services company being considered for this award. Luxoft received the second place, following Continental and ahead of Ford, which took the third place.

The Congress had more than 180 executive attendees from pioneering OEMs, automotive suppliers, engineering, and software development companies from all over the world gathered to discuss latest innovations, challenges and solutions, technologies, best practices and new global trends in automotive HMI.

The award was received for a new Body Comfort Climate feature, the latest innovation of Luxoft within HMI domain. This feature improves user interaction with the vehicle’s climate control system, delivering superior in-vehicle user experience. It also enables the design of energy-efficient climate control systems by employing a smaller zonal climate control targeted to specific body parts of a passenger. Body Comfort Climate feature was designed to provide a personalized in-vehicle experience, allowing the storage and update of user-based climate presets under the user-defined profile. The rear seat passengers can adjust climate settings remotely via dedicated application running on a connected device.

The Body Comfort Climate feature brings the interaction with the climate control system to a superior level and answers the need of having a more consumer-focused and personalized dimension when interacting with the car’s HMI. The main advantage of this feature, as compared with a typical climate control system, is that the user is no longer required to separately adjust each parameter or to specifically define a set of values (temperature, air flow speed and direction, etc.) to achieve the desired thermal comfort.

“The award is a testament to Luxoft’s extensive HMI expertise, and presents Luxoft as a recognized and respected brand in the automotive industry, one that is driving innovation in HMI design,” said Vasiliy Suvorov, Luxoft’s Vice President for Technology Strategy. “This has been a very exciting year for our practice having been honored as the best connected car systems integrator by TU-Automotive in June , and now for the second year in a row being recognized for our HMI achievements. We are excited about the level of awards we have received alongside our current clients, leading original equipment manufacturers, and the Tier 1-2 vendors.”
