On Nov.26th, 2012, Ground-Breaking Ceremony of JAC Brazil Joint Venture was grandly held in Camaçari. JAC delegation led by Chairman Mr. Anjin and Vice General Manager Mr. She Cairong attended the ceremony.Minister of Brazil Federal Industrial Development Trade Mr. Fernando Pimentel,Governor of Bahia State Mr. Jaques Wagner,Consulate-Genearal of the Peoples’ Republic of China In Camaçari Mr. Sun Rongmao and,Consulate-Genearal of the Peoples’ Republic of China in Rio de Janeiro Ms. Chen Xiaoling and other Brazil key officials attended the ceremony. Besides, more than 100 media and more than 500 customers in Brazil witnessed the milestone moment.
JAC Brazil joint venture plant will cover 4.7 million square meters with total investment of 250 million dollars, among which SNS will hold 66% shares while JAC will hold the rest 34%. The plant plans to achieve annual production of 100,000 units, and create above 3500 direct employment chances and more than 10,000 indirect employment chances. Besides, the new plant will include four manufacturing crafts, as well as test running track; research center and emission lab.
Mr. Anjin delivered a speech on behalf of JAC: From today, Camaçari, Bahia will be JAC second hometown, thus under the witness of our hometown people, JAC and SHC will open a new cooperation chapter. Moreover, Mr. An promised that JAC will inject its advanced management technology, international standard research system, mature manufacturing experience and first-class automobile products into the new plant.
Ambassador of the Peoples’ Republic of China in Brazil Mr Li Jinzhang said: I am glad to see that as the establishment of the joint venture plant, more jobs will be created, and the development of the economy and society will be promoted.
Governor of Bahia State Mr. Jaques Wagner stressed that JAC joint venture plant project will surely build confidence for China and Brazil cooperation development; he hopes that more and more Chinese enterprises will be attracted to invest in Bahia and realize mutual benefits.
Mayor of Camaçari expressed his warmest welcome to JAC and greatest congratulations on the ground-breaking on behalf of local government. He stated that Camaçari government will try its best to provide support and help to JAC.
JAC introduced its first vehicles-J3 and J3 Turin to Brazil market since 2011, and the second vehicles-J5 and J6 successively in August, 2011 and May, 2012. Because of the consumers’ great favors to JAC first vehicles,in 2011, JAC exported 37725 units of vehicles to Brazil in total, which were the most exported volume among Chinese brands and the second among all the international brands.
