Greg Kolwich, Manager, Production Development, FEV, has been confirmed as a speaker in the Vehicle Lightweighting Session at Automotive Megatrends USA 2015, which takes place on 17 March 2015.
Mr. Kolwich’s automotive engineering career spans a period of 22 years. Mr. Kolwich has extensive experience in the research, design, manufacturing, and production implementation of automotive chassis and powertrain components. While his career has been primarily anchored in North America, Mr. Kolwich also has gained significant global experience in both Asia and Europe.
Prior to joining FEV, Mr. Kolwich was the Director of Engineering at KSR International, where he managed a product engineering department that consisted of global platform teams, an advanced technology development team, and a supporting prototype and test department. In this role, he was responsible for developing new advanced chassis and powertrain technologies and products, supporting the development of progressive manufacturing processes and equipment, and assisting in the launch of new global manufacturing facilities.
In 2008,Mr. Kolwich joined FEV in his current role with responsibility for developing and managing the Production Development department, which specializes in manufacturing feasibility assessments, technology cost assessments, supply chain management services, and application of advanced product quality planning techniques.
In this role, he has been responsible for projects involving the development of incremental manufacturing costs for advanced light-duty vehicle technologies; technologies applicable to engine, transmission, hybrid electric vehicles and vehicle light-weighting and has led the development of a new, highly-detailed, transparent, and reliable costing process.
