DHL Trade Fairs & Events, a business unit of DHL Freight, will continue to be the official logistics partner of Messe Frankfurt for another five years. The trade fair logistics specialist will remain responsible for all logistical processes at the exhibition hall – before, during and after events. In addition to classical transport services, the company also offers exhibitors on-site fair organisation, customs clearance, storage, and onward transportation of exhibits.“With the help of DHL Trade Fairs & Events we have been able to make progress and optimise our logistics processes in recent years. We are pleased to continue this innovative and successful journey together”, said Oliver Schell, Head of Logistics and Traffic Management of Messe Frankfurt.
Innovative electronic control system
In 2008, DHL and Messe Frankfurt developed, in close cooperation, an innovative electronic control system, with which all logistics processes at the exhibition centre are steered. Since then, employees of both companies have been linked via the platform and permanently have visibility on which logistics services have to be carried out in which way. Besides reduced unnecessary fork lift movements, for example, processes are optimised and costs are saved. Customers also benefit from shortened waiting times and faster handling.“The development of such a complex solution is a unique selling proposition for Messe Frankfurt. The fact that we were able to win this contract extension again versus numerous competitors is a great acknowledgement of our work”, added Vincenzo Scrudato, CEO DHL Trade Fairs & Events.DHL Trade Fairs & Events has representative offices in Frankfurt, Hanover, Cologne and Leipzig and also offers its services at all other German exhibition halls. Furthermore, the business unit maintains a global network and is present in Birmingham, Geneva, Istanbul, Moscow, Mumbai, Oslo, Shanghai, Stockholm, Verona and Vienna.
