Daimler is sharing the reward of the successful 2015 financial year with its employees by paying the highest profit-sharing bonus in the company’s history. The Board of Management and General Works Council resolved to pay a profit-sharing bonus of up to EUR 5,650 to all qualifying tariff-scale employees. Thus, the highest profit-share, which was paid in the last year, with 4,350 euros, will be clearly surpassed.

“Our employees are our key to success. Only with a dedicated and skilled team we can lead our company to long-term success. With our profit-sharing bonus we reward the outstanding performance of our employees in 2015. From 2 million vehicles produced at Mercedes-Benz Cars to sales record at Mercedes-Benz Vans, the first autonomous driving Mercedes-Benz Truck to sustainable long-term agreements for our German production plants – we have achieved a lot together”, says Wilfried Porth, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Human Resources and Director of Labor Relations, IT & Mercedes-Benz Vans.

The profit-sharing bonus will be paid to around 125,000 qualifying tariff-scale employees in Germany with their April paychecks.Michael Brecht, Chairman of Daimler AG’s General Works Council: “The staff has performed outstanding last year – which our company figures show clearly. The profit-sharing bonus rewards our colleagues adequately for their participation of this great success. Thus, an important strategic goal of the Central Works Council is fulfilled. The new Calculation formula pays off: employees benefit from the company success and the efficiency gain.”

At Daimler, there is a profit-sharing bonus for tariff-scale employees since 1997. The calculation of the profit-sharing bonus is settled at Daimler in an agreement which The Board of Management and Daimler’s General Work Council reconsolidated in 2013. The calculation of the profit-sharing bonus is a formula, which links the company’s earnings before interest and taxes and the return on sales.
