Automotive World has received three journalism awards from the Guild of Motoring Writers.

At the 2015 edition of the Guild’s annual awards ceremony, Martin Kahl, Editor of AutomotiveWorld.com and Automotive Megatrends magazine (https://www.automotiveworld.com/megatrends-magazine/), picked up two prizes: Renault UK Journalist of the Year and Prova PR Business Writer of the Year; new staff writer Xavier Boucherat collected the Phil Llewellin Student Of the Year award.

“I’m delighted to receive these awards,” said Martin Kahl, whose winning entries were chosen from pieces published on AutomotiveWorld.com and in Megatrends magazine. “As journalists, we always write to the best of our abilities, but it’s fantastic to have our work recognised in this way. And I’m of course thrilled that Automotive World’s newest writer has also picked up the award for student writer of the year!”

Xavier Boucherat, who joined Automotive World in September 2015, said: “I’m thrilled to win this award.” Xavier’s winning article, about speed record challenger Danny Thompson, won the John Arfon Edwards Memorial Prize earlier in the year, whilst Xavier was still a student on the MA in Magazine Journalism course at Cardiff University. “Danny’s story is indicative of the intrigue, the innovation and the occasional madness that characterises the automotive industry, and having the chance to bring that to life is an honour,” added Xavier.

Automotive World publisher Gareth Davies commented: “It’s great that the strong writing in our editorial team has been recognised in this way.”
