Following the recommendation of the Nominating Committee, and approval at the Meeting of the Board of Directors that was held today, AGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.) announced a set of changes in the members of the Board of Directors, Corporate Auditors and Executive Officers as described below.
The changes in the members of the Board of Directors and Corporate Auditors will be made subject to approval at the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in late March 2013.
1. Changes in the members of the Board of Directors
(1) The following Directors’ assignments will be changed:
Yoshiaki Tamura becomes Representative Director; Executive Vice President ; Overall business management (Technology);GM of Technology General Division; Deputy leader of AGC Group Improvement Activities. He was formerly Senior Executive Officer; President of Electronics Company (As of January 1 ,2013: Executive Vice President; Overall business management (Technology);GM of Technology General Division; Deputy leader of AGC Group Improvement Activities)
Director Hiroshi Kimura Chairman of the Board, Japan Tobacco Inc.
(2) The following Director will not return: Katsuhisa Kato Representative Director; Executive Vice President; Overall business management (Technology); GM of Technology General Division (As of January 1 ,2013: Representative Director; Executive Vice President; Assistant to CEO)
