ZF targets propane for step-change in EV thermal management

ZF has unveiled a new thermal management solution designed to optimise range in electrified solutions. TherMaS was originally unveiled in 2023 in the EVbeat prototype vehicle, but the updated version presented to media on 2 July 2025 represented “significant technology leaps,” according to Otmar Scharrer, Head of Corporate R&D at ZF.
