Waymo tests sixth-generation robotaxis in Philadelphia

Waymo is slowly edging its way into the Northeast US, with testing now underway in Philadelphia. By Stewart Burnett

Waymo has begun testing its latest sixth-generation robotaxis, based closely on the Zeekr RT, in Philadelphia as part of its steady expansion across Northeast US cities. The Alphabet self-driving unit is currently deploying vehicles with human safety drivers to map the city’s streets and familiarise its technology with local traffic conditions.
