‘We’re watching emerging technologies’ – US EPA

Michael Nash speaks to Nick Conger of the US Environmental Protection Agency about the on-going goal of improving fuel economy

According to two recent US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports, the average fuel economy of all passenger vehicles increased from 24.3mpg to 24.8mpg between MY2014 and MY2015, and OEMs outperformed the greenhouse gas (GHG) MY2015 requirements by an average of seven grams of CO2 per mile. This has been achieved by the increased adoption of various fuel-saving and emissions-reducing technologies.
