In an effort to improve the health of its US operations, Volkswagen Group of America will open an engineering and planning centre alongside the OEM’s existing production and sales facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It will also make the company the first OEM to centralise engineering efforts in the South of the US, with most of the country’s automotive research based in Michigan and Ohio.
