US senators hope to clean up diesels through 2021

A group of US Senators is hoping to reauthorise a programme that helps businesses across the country replace old diesel vehicles. By Michael Nash

A recent report by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) quantified the impacts of the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) programme, which has been running since 2008. Although the effects of the programme are clearly positive when it comes to improving air quality and reducing emissions in the US, its future is uncertain.
