US SAAR tops 18-million mark again

Low interest rates and gas prices continue to support sales of SUVs, light trucks and performance cars, the most profitable models for OEMs

US light vehicle sales once again came in ahead of forecasts, with October volumes rising 13.6% year-on-year. According to figures from Autodata, the seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) came in at 18.24 million units. This marks the second consecutive month that the SAAR has passed the 18-million mark.
