US renewable fuel volume requirements ‘ambitious yet achievable’

The US is looking to further increase the amount of renewable fuels used in transport with new volume requirements, writes Michael Nash

Road transportation accounts for around 16% of global man-made CO2 emissions, and according to data from the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), its share is rising. There are many different approaches available to lower CO2 emissions from transport, one of which is the transition to low-carbon biofuels.
