US President Donald Trump has set the date for the imposition of 25% tariffs on imports of heavy-duty trucks: 1 November. The date, announced via social media late on 6 October, follows months of lobbying by US automakers seeking protection from foreign competition, and could sharply increase costs for Mexican-built trucks.
