The US President is required to report on the state of the union every year to Congress. While he is limited in the breadth and depth of his comments, the automotive industry usually makes it in there somewhere. This year, President Barack Obama managed to touch specifically on job creation in the sector, highlighting California EV start-up Tesla in particular. While infrastructure got a mention, some have objected that he didn't go nearly far enough in addressing what is one of the key priority issues this year.
