Toyota to build first Europe-made EVs in Czech Republic

Toyota is putting its recently-retooled plant in the Czech Republic to work in pursuance of its EV ambitions. By Stewart Burnett

Toyota will begin manufacturing electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe for the first time at its Czech plant in Kolín from 2028, capable of producing approximately 100,000 units annually. The Japanese automaker is expected to build an as-yet-unnamed electric SUV at the facility, which currently manufactures the Aygo X and Yaris models.
