Tesla rejected US$60m settlement in Miami Autopilot case

Tesla was forced to pay US$243m in damages in the Miami Autopilot case, and now says it will appeal the verdict. By Stewart Burnett

Tesla rejected a US$60m settlement proposal before a Miami jury awarded US$243m in damages over a fatal 2019 crash involving its Autopilot system, according to a new disclosure by plaintiffs released on 25 August. The lawyers disclosed the settlement offer as part of a request for legal fees from the electric vehicle maker.
