It may be associated with smartphones but Qualcomm, the world's biggest maker of chips for mobile devices, wants to move into the car to provide connectivity benefits to OEMs and their customers.
In fact, over the last ten years, Qualcomm has been developing chip sets for automotive, with the notion of becoming a key player in the connected car programmes of many OEMs. As cars worldwide become more connected than ever before, Qualcomm is using its technology to help accelerate the in-car experience to enable a safer, more integrated and more connected driving experience.
