Landmark deal brings GKN’s new F1 hybrid tech to buses

GKN has just secured the first major production order for its Gyrodrive hybrid power system through an agreement with The Go-Ahead Group. Under the deal, GKN will provide electric flywheel systems to 500 buses over the next two years. Automotive World spoke with Philip Swash, the Chief Executive of GKN Land Systems, on the significance of the deal and the promise for the technology moving forward.
