Hyundai predicts business environment will remain difficult

Hyundai's Q1 results reflected the impact of economic weakness and surging inflation in its home market. By Jonathan Storey

Hyundai Motor Company's domestic sales fell by 16% in Q1, as Korean consumers reacted to surging inflation and a weak economy. The sales decline also reflected the temporary suspension of production at its Asan plant which is being reconfigured for production of electric vehicles (EVs).
