Proving that a new owner is no obstacle to fresh partnerships, Harman has invested in Silicon Valley start-up Navdy. The move comes just a couple weeks after it agreed to an acquisition by Samsung. Navdy is pioneering an aftermarket heads-up display (HUD) device that projects mobile application information and car data in front of the car windshield. It falls within an area that Harman Chief Executive Dinesh Paliwal believes could become pivotal with the advent of self-driving vehicles.
