In June 2015, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published the proposals for ‘Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Engines and Vehicles – Phase II.’ The final rule is set to be published in August 2016.
In general, the initial document received early support from many industry experts and OEMs that worked alongside the government bodies in developing the proposed rules, but not everyone is happy.
