Ford’s next generation engines to be developed in UK

The Bridgend plant’s future is secured, but it will not operate at previous production levels

When running at full speed, Ford’s Bridgend engine manufacturing plant operates at a furious pace, with a daily output of 3,400 engines a day. On its busiest line, this equates to one engine every 24 seconds. The plant’s total output now exceeds 19 million units, which have been used in the Fiesta, Focus and B-Max models.
