After many slow recall responses dominated the headlines, it is clear that OEMs are making a point of moving faster to report and correct safety problems. The consequences for those that fail to do so have been highlighted by the large penalties paid by Toyota and General Motors to the US government.
In its most recent announcement, Ford has issued five separate recalls for 202,000 vehicles in North America to fix air bag sensors, stalling issues and gas leaks.
