Daimler to set up new NA van plant in Charleston

After announcing its decision to locally produce the Sprinter in the US late last year, Daimler has decided to invest US$500m to set up a new production plant for this model in Charleston, South Carolina

Daimler's Mercedes-Benz Vans unit has decided to invest US$500m to set up a new manufacturing plant in the US. This plant, which will be located in Charleston, South Carolina, will produce the next-generation Sprinter van. Construction of this new facility will start in 2016, and when operational, it is expected to result in the creation of around 1,300 new jobs.
