Electric vehicles (EVs) could prove instrumental in meeting upcoming climate change goals and air quality targets. Some market projections call for 120 million EVs on the road by the end of the decade. But volumes like this will only be possible if EVs can compete with traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) models in terms of performance, cost, safety and manufacturability. And that hinges on the heart of an EV: the battery pack.
